What You Will Be Doing

Responsible for mine planning, safety, environmental matters, cost control, production and maintenance for a one million+ ton per year crushed stone facility

and asphalt plant

Establish and monitor a production plan; maintain accurate cost and inventory control; calculate and analyze productivity and material data

Understands the value of quality and ensures processes are in place to provide a quality product to our customers

Maintain duties related to MSHA regulations, including accident investigation and reporting, safety meetings, training, etc. Actively engages with the employees

to reinforce safe behaviors. Ensures that safety, compliance and environmental requirements are followed

Oversees mobile equipment mechanics

Oversees maintenance planning and cost control

Works closely and effectively with safety, environmental, quality and materials performance

Document production statistics and produce reports as required

Communicate with local community as required

Responsible for capital and operating budget processes

Maintain working relationships with all departments to ensure work objectives can be met

Develop plans to work towards improved performance and lower operating costs

What You Need for this Position

5+ years industry specific (or related) college courses or equivalent experience

Relevant operations management certifications, i.e., industry specific management training


Minimum of 5 years industry experience

Strong knowledge of welding, repairs and maintenance of plant and mobile equipment

Experience with MSHA/OSHA regulations and requirements

Experience managing groups of employees in separate locations as required for assigned locations

Strong leadership, organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills

Must be familiar material specifications

Proficient in MS Office

Personnel management experience, i.e., hiring and selection, performance reviews, discipline, and legal compliance requirements
